John has been involved in town government since 2001 when he was elected to the Board Of Finance. In 2003 he became chairman of the BOF and was elected First Selectman in 2005. During his 8 years as First Selectman John kept taxes low while completing many infrastructure upgrades throughout town. In 2013 John returned to the BOF and became Chief Operating Officer for the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation, named in honor of his hero cousin, a member of the FDNY who was killed on 9/11. The foundation provides mortgage free homes to military and first responders either killed or injured in the line of duty. Kim served on HRRA, then spent 3 years on Inland Wetlands, was Chair of the Board of Education for 9 years, and for the last 6 years has been a Selectman. He and his wife, Liz, moved to New Fairfield 20 years ago from Brooklyn. They met in Woodstock, Illinois in 77 working on a production of The Nutcracker – Kim continues to work as a Lighting Designer and Liz teaches ballet.
